Nibepo Aike was established as a functioning ranch at the beginning of the 20th century. Located on the southern bank of Lake Argentino, it has a privileged location inside Los Glaciares National Park. The estancia offers easy access, on horseback or via hiking, to places with magnificent, off the beaten path views of the surrounding glaciers and mountains. The estancia has 8 double rooms with private bathrooms, and two double/triple rooms with private bathroom. Its dining room serves traditional meat and vegetable dishes made mostly from home produce. Activities include horseback riding, hiking, and excursions to the Perito Moreno glacier. This is a rustic option, designed to showcase life on a traditional estancia; as such, there is no electricity overnight. The house is warmed by a fireplace at night, though a pair of long johns are recommended for the chilly evenings. A stay at the beautiful Nibepo Aike is a great, comfortable way to get a better sense of what life might have been like for the first settlers of the area, in an exceptional, remote location.
