Nibepo Aike was established as a functioning ranch at the beginning of the 20th century and located on the southern bank of Lake Argentino in Los Glaciares National Park. It has a privileged location inside the National Park, making for easy access on horseback or hiking to places with magnificent, off the beaten path views of the surrounding glaciers and mountains. The estancia has 8 double rooms with private bathrooms, and two double/triple rooms with private bathroom. Its dining room serves traditional meat and vegetable dishes made mostly from home produce. Activities include horseback rides, hiking and excursions to the Perito Moreno glacier. This is a somewhat more rustic option, with no electricity overnight, though the house has a lot of charm and is warmed by a fire (it’s still good to have long johns). A great way to get a better sense of what life might have been like for the first settlers of the area, in an exceptional, remote location.
