El Silencio Lodge is an upscale cloud forest hotel located in Bajos del Toro, in Costa Rica’s Central Volcanic Valley. The lodge is situated within 500 acres of private forest offering hidden waterfalls, an adventure Eco-Park, hiking trails, horseback riding, and other nature activities, and is ideally located for excursions to Arenal Volcano, the Sarapiquí River Basin, and Poas Volcano.
Designed by Ronald Zurcher, one of Costa Rica’s most prominent architects, El Silencio combines elements of Costa Rica’s traditional rural farms and countryside homes with first class modern amenities and immersion in nature. The lodge’s restaurant features a farm-to-table dining experience emphasizing local ingredients, many of which are sourced from the on-site organic mini-farm. El Silencio also offers a coffee lounge and a large outdoor deck with a fire pit and views of the Gorrion River. As part of your stay, you will be assigned your own “Eco-concierge,” a guide to the local culture and natural surroundings who will help you plan activities and make the most of your time in this gorgeous area.
