Discovering the Antarctic Peninsula

This expedition offers the chance to discover the best of the magnificent Antarctic Peninsula, the continent’s most northern region. Consisting of a 500 mile long mountain chain that protrudes north towards the southern tip of South America, the Antarctic Peninsula is home to abundant wildlife, including several different species of penguins, seals, whales and marine birds.

Cruising south from Ushuaia, you start by crossing the Drake Passage, often an excellent place to see whales and other marine life. You will then spend the next 4 to 5 days (depending on the exact departure) navigating the ice-laden waters of the Antarctic Peninsula and enjoying the breathtaking scenery in places such as Paradise Bay, Port Lockroy and Petermann Island. You will learn about the natural, geographic and human history of this remote land before sailing back through the Lemaire Channel and returning to Ushuaia.
