What Languages Are Spoken?

The national language of both Peru and Ecuador is Spanish, although you will have the assistance of an English speaking guide at both Machu Picchu and the Galapagos Islands. Both countries have large indigenous populations and you will hear a lot of Quecha (the language of the Incas) around Cusco and Machu Picchu, as well as in Quito and the Ecuadorian highlands.
