The Amazon Clipper Overview
This itinerary varies depending on whether you elect to do the 2, 3, or 5 night cruise. 2 and 5 night cruises depart on Mondays while 3 night cruises depart on Wednesdays. All cruises depart from the dock outside the Hotel Tropical Manaus. We receive excellent rates at this hotel and will arrange that part of your trip as well. Please see below for cruise pricing as well as rates for the hotel and airport transfers.
Upon arrival to Manaus you will be met at the airport by a local representative and transferred to your hotel, located on the banks of the Rio Negro. Depending on the time or your arrival we can arrange for a city tour including a visit to the historic Amazonas Opera House, built in 1896 during the rubber boom.
Hotel Tropical Manaus
At approximately 2:30 p.m. you will be picked up from the floating dock outside of the Hotel Tropical and start your cruise. You will be welcomed onboard and given a briefing on the upcoming day. Your first destination is the “Meeting of the Waters,” the confluence of the massive Rio Negro and even mightier Amazon River. You will also have the opportunity to canoe through some of the smaller creeks in this area and experience the rainforest up close.

Some of the birds you are likely to see include the pre-historic looking hoatzin, as well as egrets and cormorants. After returning to the ship for breakfast, you will take a nature walk into the rainforest with your naturalist guides. In the evening you will have an excursion to try to spot some of the nocturnal animals of the jungle.

Canoe trips at sunset will also be an option.
