Day 1:

Welcome to Cape Town!

Arrive to Cape Town, a city famous for its colorful markets, historic sites, vibrant waterfront, dramatic landscapes, and world-class dining. Scenically beautiful, Cape Town is a compelling mix of trendy modern and old-world elegance. Malay and African heritage is evident in the cuisine, traditions and entertainment while the architecture reveals a strong Dutch, German and English influence. Your private guide will be waiting to transfer you to your boutique hotel in the City Bowl, a scenic area ringed by mountains and the perfect base for exploring this iconic metropolis.

Day 3:

Penguins and the Peninsula: Explore the Cape of Good Hope and Cape Peninsula

Penguins at Cape of Good Hope

Meet the endangered African Penguin today as you explore the rugged coastline. Your private guide will take you to the penguin colony and to other key sites away from the typical tourist crowds, where you can engage with the local history and culture of the region.

Drive up Chapman’s Peak, considered one of the world’s top scenic coastal drives, with the Atlantic Ocean on one side and the Cape Peninsula Western Mountains on the other. Experience the meeting of the two oceans at the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve. Visit charming fishing villages and stop for an included lunch at the restaurant of your choice. Day 4:

Off to the Bush: Start Your Safari

Fly to the Greater Kruger National Park, home to several private reserves, luxurious lodges, and some of the world’s premier safari game viewing. An extraordinary place for your safari experience.

Head out this afternoon for your first game drive. Climb aboard your custom safari vehicle and head into the reserve in search of your first potential sightings of elephants, lions, leopards, buffalo, rhino, and a variety of smaller species. Take in the sunset in the bush as you enjoy canapes and cocktails before heading back to camp.

Day 5:

Safari

Enjoy your first full day on safari at a private reserve. Head out for your morning game drive as you watch the sun rise and the African bush come to life. The early morning hours are a prime time to spot wildlife, listen to bird calls, and connect with wild nature. Your safari guide will be there to help you spot a wide variety of species and to get you to the best wildlife viewing spots at the most uncrowded times possible.

Spend a leisurely afternoon back at camp, relaxing or enjoying your lodge’s amenities. In the later afternoon, you’ll be off for your second game drive, led by your expert ranger and tracker.

Day 6:

The Safari Continues

Explore the bush and enjoy the offerings at your luxury lodge. You will always have the option of two game drives a day, and in the afternoon you may choose to go for a guided walk with an armed ranger, take a dip in the pool, treat yourself to an in-suite massage, or simply partake in an “armchair safari” from your private deck.

Day 7:

The Smoke That Thunders: Depart for Victoria Falls

Say goodbye to South Africa and take a morning flight up to Victoria Falls. Known in a local language as Mosi-oa-Tunya, or “The Smoke That Thunders,” Victoria Falls straddles the border of Zambia and Zimbabwe and plummets some 354 feet into the gorge below. At over five thousand feet wide, it is the world’s largest falling sheet of water. Settle into your nearby boutique hotel, the perfect base to explore the magnificent falls.

Nestled on the banks of the mighty Zambezi River, within the Zambezi National Park, Victoria Falls River Lodge offers wonderful wildlife viewing opportunities, impressive accommodations, fine dining, easy access to the historic town of Victoria Falls and the opportunity to visit the world-famous Falls and explore this incredible natural wonder on foot. The luxury thatched tents are well spaced and air-conditioned. Constructed of canvas, glass and wood each extends out onto a private deck with its own plunge pool.

All Luxury Tented Suites offer a larger than king size bed, comfortable sitting area, open plan bathroom with freestanding bath and both indoor and outdoor showers. Twin bedded sleeping configurations are also possible. Each of the rooms affords spectacular panoramic views of the Zambezi River and surroundings.

Day 8:

Victoria Falls

Experience one of nature’s supreme masterpieces. Today you’ll do a walk through the rainforest in the vicinity of the Falls with your private guide, who will tell you about the history of Victoria Falls and introduce you to the surrounding flora and fauna.

In the afternoon, enjoy some leisure time at your hotel, observe the onsite waterhole for local animals, or explore the town. A variety of activities can be arranged in the area, including birding, fishing, wine tasting, kayaking, and game drives.

Day 9:

Cruise the Zambezi River

Set out for a sunset cruise along the mighty Zambezi River, one of Africa’s largest river systems. Enjoy canapes and drinks as you celebrate your last night in Africa. A remarkable way to end an extraordinary journey.

Day 10:

Farewell Africa
