Hondius: A Polar Class 6 ice-strengthened expedition vessel
The Hondius (sister ship to the Janssonius) is the first-registered Polar Class 6 vessel in the world, meeting the latest and highest Lloyd’s Register demands for ice-strengthened cruise vessels. Hondius also exceeds the requirements of the Polar Code as adopted by the International Maritime Organization (IMO). This means you can enjoy cruising the Arctic and the Antarctic while leaving as little impact on the regions as possible. First launched in 2019, the Hondius is one of the newest ships sailing the endless summer between polar waters and is one of the most flexible, advanced, innovative ice-strengthened vessels found in these regions. Optimized for exploratory voyages, this state-of-the-art premium expedition vessel provides an ideal basecamp for adventure in the Arctic and Antarctica, offering a cozy, informal atmosphere with a host of modern comforts on board plus the utmost opportunities for activities and first-hand explorations of each destination.
