Day 1: Arrive in Cape Town

Welcome to Cape Town! You will be met on arrival and transferred into the city to begin your trip. Cape Town is one of Africa’s most dramatically situated cities, set between the Atlantic Ocean and breathtaking Table Mountain. Your first afternoon and evening is yours to settle in and unwind.

Accommodations: The Cole By Kove, 4 nights

A boutique hotel in Sea Point, Cape Town, The Cole has rooms and suites with views of either the Atlantic Ocean or Table Mountain. The hotel has a cocktail bar on the terrace, and a rooftop restaurant on the eighth floor serving lunch and dinner with views over the Atlantic. The spa has a sauna, a cold plunge pool, and a range of treatments. There is also an onsite boutique and gym. Bicycle rentals are available for exploring Sea Point and the surrounding neighborhoods.

Day 2: Cape Town Food and Culture

Spend the day exploring Cape Town with a private expert guide, moving through the city’s neighborhoods, culinary identity, and layered history one tasting at a time. Over the course of the day you’ll enjoy a range of tastings of local food and drink that reflect Cape Town’s unique culinary scene. The guides go well beyond the plate, drawing on deep knowledge of the city’s past and present to give you an authentic glimpse into this dynamic city.

Accommodations: The Cole By Kove, 4 nights

*Includes: Breakfast

Day 3: Kirstenbosch, Table Mountain, and Constantia

This morning begins with a guided walk through Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, the first botanical garden in the world dedicated to a country’s indigenous flora. Your guide will walk you through the Cape Floral Kingdom’s remarkable plant diversity before the trail continues up and out of the gardens onto a forested contour path on Table Mountain, with views stretching over False Bay and the Constantia Valley below. At a scenic stopping point along the way, you will take a break with South African snacks and hot or iced tea depending on the season.

After the hike, you will be driven down to the Constantia Valley for a picnic lunch at a boutique wine farm in the oldest wine-growing region in the Southern Hemisphere. The afternoon is spent at two estate settings, tasting some of the Cape’s finest wines before heading back to the city.

Accommodations: The Cole By Kove, 4 nights

*Includes: Breakfast, Lunch

Day 4: The Cape Peninsula and Simon's Town

Rejoin your private guide for a morning down the peninsula, starting early at Boulders Beach to visit the resident African Penguin colony before the crowds arrive. Tucked between Simon’s Town and Cape Point, Boulders is one of the few places in the world where you can observe African penguins at close range in their natural habitat, framed by large granite boulders and clear blue water.

From there you will head to the bohemian fishing village of Kalk Bay to explore the harbor, watch the Cape Fur Seals, and browse the antique shops, galleries, and local boutiques at your own pace. Before heading back, you will have the choice of a wellness stop — a dip in the icy tidal pool followed by a hot shower and beachside hot chocolate — or a leisurely walk along the promenade to Muizenberg, taking in views of False Bay and the colorful Victorian beach boxes at St James.

The tour wraps up by midday, leaving the afternoon free for lunch, a visit to the Waterfront, or exploring the city’s markets.

Accommodations: The Cole By Kove, 4 nights

*Includes: Breakfast

Day 5: Fly to Victoria Falls

Say goodbye to Cape Town and head to the airport for your direct flight north to Livingstone, Zambia, where a private driver will be waiting to transfer you upriver to Tongabezi Lodge, set on a private stretch of the Zambezi. After a late lunch with the river in front of you, the rest of the afternoon is yours to begin exploring.

Included activities during your stay range from a guided visit to Victoria Falls on the Zambian side, sunrise and sunset boat cruises on the Zambezi, catch-and-release tiger fishing, game drives in Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park, visits to the Maramba and Mukuni village markets, and a tour of the Livingstone Museum.

For something more memorable, the iconic sampan dinner — each course paddled out to you on the river — is worth booking in advance. Optional add-ons include the Livingstone Island tour with a swim in Devil’s or Angel’s Pool, microlight flights over the Falls, helicopter flights, white water rafting in the Batoka Gorge, a rhino walk, and the Royal Livingstone Express, a sunset dinner journey through Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park by vintage train.

Accommodations: Tongabezi Lodge, 3 nights

Tongabezi Lodge sits on a private stretch of the Zambezi River 7.5 miles upstream of Victoria Falls, Zambia. The lodge has 12 accommodations — five River Cottages, four Houses, and three Family Houses — each individually designed with interiors sourced from across Africa. Facilities include a restaurant, a swimming pool, a gym, outdoor lounge areas overlooking the river, and a poolside bar.

*Includes: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Days 6-7: Victoria Falls

Take advantage of two full days to work through the activities that interest you most. Your Tongabezi team will help you sequence everything to make the most of your time on the river and at the Falls.

Accommodations: Tongabezi Lodge, 3 nights

*Includes: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 8: Bush Flight to the Okavango Delta

A private driver will take you from Livingstone to the Botswana border, where you will be met and checked in for your bush flight into the Okavango Delta. You will touch down in the Khwai Private Reserve in time for lunch at Sable Alley, a stylish camp set on the banks of a lily-covered lagoon at the northeastern edge of the Delta, adjacent to both Moremi Game Reserve and Chobe National Park.

The reserve’s 200,000 hectares of diverse habitat — riverine woodland, open floodplains, mopane clusters, and winding channels — support one of the highest concentrations of predators in the Okavango, with lion, leopard, cheetah, and wild dogs all regularly sighted. The afternoon begins with your first game drive into this new landscape.

Accommodations: Sable Alley, 3 nights

Sable Alley is on the banks of a private lagoon in the 200,000-hectare Khwai Reserve in the Okavango Delta. The lodge's 12 canvas-walled tents each measure 592 sq. ft. and have a private veranda, indoor and outdoor showers, and views over the lagoon. Communal facilities include a swimming pool, a bar with a gin tasting menu, a lounge, an outdoor fire pit, and both indoor and alfresco dining.

*Includes: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Days 9-10: Explore the Okavango

Enjoy two full days exploring the Khwai Private Reserve in the Okavango Delta. On land, you will have the options of morning and afternoon game drives with an expert ranger, guided nature walks, and even an opportunity to join the KPR rangers on a pre-dawn predator patrol.

On the water, mokoro excursions meander through the Delta’s channels and waterways, getting you eye-level with some of the Delta’s iconic wildlife, while the camp’s double-level boat offers a broader view of the lagoon.

Accommodations: Sable Alley, 3 nights

*Includes: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 11: Departure

After a final morning safari and breakfast, you will head to the airstrip for your flight to Maun and onward to Johannesburg, where you will connect to your flight home.
