Welcome to Nepal!
Arrive in Kathmandu. Cradled by the Himalaya, Kathmandu is a vibrant city where ancient temples stand alongside modern buildings, and bustling marketplaces give way to tranquil gardens. You’ll be met at the airport before transferring into the city and to your hotel. The afternoon is free to rest and explore on your own.

Today’s full-day tour offers a glimpse into Nepal’s rich religious diversity and its iconic historical sites. Meet your expert guide and start your day at Pashupatinath Temple. Observe the rituals at this revered Hindu temple from across the Bagmati River. Continue to Boudhanath Stupa. From its whitewashed dome to its gilded tower painted with the all-seeing eyes of the Buddha, the monument is a highlight of Kathmandu. Have lunch at a restaurant overlooking the stupa before heading back to your hotel.
Fly to Lukla. Trek to Monjo.
Fly to Lukla. Upon arrival, meet your porters and head out on the trail! The trek begins with a leisurely and scenic three-hour hike down to the riverside village of Phakding. Cross roaring rivers via sturdy suspension bridges adorned with prayer flags and pass by colorful mani stones. Lunch is at a lodge in Phakding. After lunch, hit the trail again to reach your lodge at Monjo.

Accommodations: Everest Summit Lodge Monjo
Everest Summit Lodge in Monjo lies at an altitude of 9,300ft, and is a day's hike away from Lukla. Overlooking the quaint village and the fierce Dudh Koshi River, Everest Summit Lodge Monjo is located against the striking backdrop of Thamserku Himal, rising from between the Khumbu and Hinku valley. The lodge is simple and comfortable, offering a terrace with mountain views, a cozy dining room, WiFi, and hot showers.

Today’s hike is uphill to Namche. Enter the Sagarmatha National Park at Monjo and descend to Jorsalle. Follow the Dudh Kosi river before making a steep 1,300′ ascent to Namche Bazaar (11,300’). Namche is the world’s highest marketplace, the largest Sherpa village in the Khumbu, and the jumping-off point for many Everest expeditions. Our lodge for the night is nestled in Namche town.

Elevation gain from Monjo to Namche: 2000’
Accommodations: Panorama Lodge, 2 nights
Panorama Lodge is a quaint family-owned lodge perched on top of Namche Bazaar, and was established in 1989. The lodge boasts a cozy central fireplace, WiFi, hot showers, and hearty Nepali and Western meals served at the onsite restaurant. The rooms are basic but comfortable, outfitted with large windows and toasty heated blankets.

Awaken to temple horns, yak bells, and a sunrise illuminating the 20,000’ mountains that surround you! Though this is a rest day, excitement is in the air, as you embark on an acclimatization hike to the Everest View hotel at 13,000′. Take in your first views of Mt. Everest and other legendary Himalayan peaks, including Nuptse, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam. Enjoy tea and snacks at the hotel’s outdoor patio before descending to the village of Khumjung. Walk through the village of Khumjung, visit the monastery where you can see the legendary Yeti Skull, and stop by Hillary’s first school.
A special lunch is planned in Khumjung at the lodge of an Everest Summiteer. He owns a small lodge near the school and, if you’re lucky, he’ll have the chance to join you for lunch and speak to his experiences on the mountain. After lunch, descend to Namche which will take about 1.5 hours. Upon reaching Namche, enjoy late afternoon tea and snacks at the hotel’s outdoor patio as you gaze out at the view. Rest up because tomorrow you continue higher into the Himalayas.

Namche to Deboche
Hiking out of Namche Bazaar, traverse the lower slopes Khumbi Yulha, a mountain held sacred by the Sherpa people. Descend to the river once again then ascend to Tengboche Monastery at 12,700′. Tengboche is surrounded by views of the snowy Himalayas and hosts the main and most impressive Tibetan Buddhist temple in the Khumbu region, with an exceptional view of Everest’s pyramid summit. After visiting the monastery, descend to Deboche. Our lodge for the night is nestled in a beautiful rhododendron forest, Nepal’s national flower.

Elevation gain from Phunki Tenga to Deboche: 1525’
Accommodations: Rivendell Lodge
Rivendell Lodge is located in Deboche, a small village surrounded by Himalayan peaks. The lodge consists of several two-story houses with basic but comfortable rooms, each outfitted with WiFi, warm blankets, ensuite bathrooms, and hot showers. The upstairs restaurant features international cuisine served in a cozy space, surrounded by windows overlooking the mountain vistas.

Enjoy a slow morning. The hike today starts off through the forest before heading uphill towards Pangboche. The trail is wide and after climbing towards the traditional gate of Pangboche, the scene opens to amazing views of Ama Dablam and Everest. Hike through the small lower village of Pangboche to arrive at your lodge for the night. After lunch at the lodge, take an excursion up to Pangboche village to visit one of the oldest monasteries in the Khumbu region. Spend the rest of your afternoon strolling through the village of Pangboche, visiting the ancient monastery, and capturing the sunset on Ama Dablam.

Accommodations: Om Kailash
Located to the right just off the main trail to Everest Base Camp Trek, and known previously as an Everest Summit Lodge property, is the conveniently located Om Kailash lodge. This basic but comfortable accommodation offers warm rooms, hot showers, mountain views, and an onsite restaurant and lounge.

Choose to take a relaxing morning at your high point or hike to Ama Dablam Base Camp. If choosing to hike to Ama Dablam, set off early this morning for your day hike. Ama Dablam is often referred to as one of the most beautiful mountains in the world. Literally translated to mean ‘Mother necklace’, Ama Dablam has graceful ridges on each side, like the arms of a mother protecting her child. The trail takes you through yak pastures and past small villages as you make a steep ascent towards base camp.
Base camp is at the foot of Ama Dablam and it’s an awe-inspiring sight to stand so close to a Himalayan giant. Observe some of the hopeful summit groups as they prepare for their expedition before heading back down to Pangboche. Have lunch at Pangboche before hiking towards Tashinga. Upon reaching Tashinga, get some well-deserved rest with a hearty meal and a warm fire.

Trekking to Ama Dablam: 4-5 hours

Accommodations: Everest Summit Lodge Tashinga
Everest Summit Lodge at Tashinga is located in a breathtaking, almost uninhabited village, off the main trail to Everest Base Camp and Ama Dablam Base Camp. The lodge is situated amongst pine forest, from where you can gaze endlessly at panoramic views of famous mountains like Ama Dablam, Kangtega, Thamserku and other Himalayan giants. The lodge is newly renovated and offers the highest standard of service and hospitality in the area. The lodge has WiFi, a restaurant, hot water, and comfortable rooms.

Awake in Tashinga to glorious views of Thamserku and Kangtega. Tashinga is located off the main trekker’s trail, offering a secluded experience and a unique glimpse into life in the Khumbu region. After breakfast, climb uphill to Kyangjuma, a small village with a beautiful viewpoint. Grab a tea and bid farewell to Everest. From Kyangjuma, the hike is moderately level to Namche. Reach Namche before lunch and enjoy settling back in to the hustle and bustle of Namche Bazaar.

Depart Namche and retrace our route towards Phakding. Descend more than 1,300 feet, passing through small villages and fields along the way while savoring our final views of the towering peaks from the trail. The setting in Phakding is serene, situated along the Dudh Koshi River, nestled beneath cliffs with high rugged mountains rising from the valley floor.

Accommodations: Mountain Lodges of Nepal – Phakding
Approximately four hours hike from Lukla. Phakding Lodge is set in an idyllic part of the Dudh Koshi river gorge, just before a small bazaar. To get a sense of how this Mountain Lodge has spent over a decade working on sustainable farming practices, stroll over to the vegetable garden and see what seasonal produce you might be served at dinner. Rooms are finished in a combination of traditional Khumbu and modern style with lashings of natural wood. En-suite bathrooms, heated beds, and soft, clean sheets ensure your comfort, along with the spectacular view of the mountains. At the restaurant, enjoy a fully stocked bar and an à la carte menu.

The final day of trekking brings us to Lukla. Bid farewell to your trekking crew before joining your guide for a celebratory feast, enjoying great food and local drinks. Turn in for a restful night’s sleep.

Fly back to Kathmandu In the morning, check out of the lodge and board a helicopter back to Kathmandu. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, you’ll be met and transferred to your hotel. The remainder of the day is free, providing ample opportunities for exploration, souvenir shopping, and sightseeing. In the evening, gather at a 150-year-old heritage building to experience a traditional Nepali dinner on your final night in this special country.
