Alpine Cheese and Gondolas

Take a gondola ride up to Ischalp this morning, situated high above Davos. Follow a lovely path towards Alp Clavadel, where a cheese dairy awaits. Discover the traditional process of transforming fresh mountain pasture milk from grazing cows into delicious cheese. Indulge in a tasting and have the opportunity to purchase the cheese directly from the dairy. A leisurely descent takes you back to the charming hamlet of Clavadel, from where you can ride the gondola back to Davos.

Scenic Davos

Commence one of the region’s most stunning hiking trails, offering expansive views of Davos, the surroundings, and the distant mountains. At the Höhenweg station, choose to either take the funicular back to Davos or extend your adventure for an additional hour to reach Schatzalp, the belle epoque hotel famously referenced in Thomas Mann’s novel, Magic Mountain. If you have time, explore the impressive alpine garden boasting 5000 species of mountain plants from around the world before the convenient funicular ride brings you back to town.

Explore The Engadine Valley

The ancient traditional window in historic medieval old town. The Zuoz today is one of the best preserved villages of the Upper Engadin.

Travel from Davos to the Engadine valley. The Upper Engadine, encompassing St. Moritz and the lakes, is renowned for its expansive valleys with glittering lakes, and awe-inspiring backdrop of snow-capped peaks, including the Bernina mountain range and the eastern Alps. Begin your journey with a visit to Zuoz, exploring its well-preserved historic town center and admiring the ornate facades of traditional Engadine houses. Afterwards, hop on an e-bike, pedal along the cycling path following the River Inn (or En in Rhaeto-Romanic, the language that gives Engadine its name), and relish the scenic ride until you reach St. Moritz.

Discover Valposchiavo

Bernina-Express railroad, Grisons, Switzerland

Embark on the Bernina Express Train, reaching Berninapass at 2253 meters (7391 feet) above sea level—the highest railway crossing in the Alps. From here, enter the Italian speaking region of Switzerland. Hike along Lake Bianco, gaining insights into the pass’s watershed and the significance of water power in the region.
