Accommodations: andBeyond Ngorongoro Crater Lodge, 2 nights
Nowhere else on earth can you wake up among all the trappings of an elegant baroque châteaux that transports you into one of the most famous African landscapes. An eclectic blend of teak panelling, Victorian furnishings and whimsical African touches creates a sumptuous atmosphere that is as elegant and unique as the Ngorongoro Crater itself. In this place of dramatic contrasts, anything is possible and the natural luxury of the beautiful setting ensures the dramatic interior of your suite blends perfectly with its stilted thatch architecture.
*Includes: All InclusiveSafari in the Ngorongoro Crater
Descend the steep walls of the Ngorongoro Crater in your private safari vehicle. This spectacular caldera is almost three million years old and was formed as the result of a gigantic explosion that caused the original volcano to collapse in on itself, creating the massive crater we see today. Twelve miles wide and approximately 2,000 feet deep, the journey from the edge of the rim to the bottom of the floor takes roughly 45 minutes by vehicle.
The crater floor has an abundance of wildlife, all taking advantage of the fertile soil and lush grazing. Roughly 25,000 animals call this place home. Flocks of flamingos, hippos in the pools, and a range of herds, solitary predators, and even a few very rare black rhino make this one of the most interesting safari landscapes on earth.
Back in camp you have the option for further activities, or you can just sit back, relax and take in the view, book a spa treatment, or anticipate a private wine-cellar dinner.
Fly to safari in the Grumeti Private Reserve
Jet off to your next adventure on your charter flight to the Grumeti Private Reserve. Set on a 350,000 acre private reserve in the Western corridor of the Serengeti, your luxury lodge is situated around a natural waterhole, perfect for an arm chair safari.

The park is also home to herds of grazers, and not just the wildebeest and zebra that form the Great Migration. The presence of Topi, gazelle, waterbuck and hartebeest means local carnivores, including cheetahs, hyenas and African wild dogs, are always lurking as well. The Serengeti is also home to more than 500 species of birds, including some very large specimens like ostriches, crowned cranes, marabou storks, and secretary birds.
Spend an afternoon at leisure as you watch the elephants from one of the two pools, or indulge in a spa treatment with the soothing sounds of the wilderness around you. Head out in the late afternoon for another exciting game drive.

This afternoon you may choose to interact with the vibrant local community at the Singita Environmental Education Centre. This project aims to to form connections among the youth of neighboring villages, and imbue them with a love and understanding of the vast Serengeti ecosystem that is their home. It engages the children through education on the rationale behind protected areas and on general, local and global environmental issues. You can also relax at the lodge and explore new areas of this massive private reserve with your knowledgeable ranger.
Another day on Safari
Experience the sights and sounds of the Serengeti as you venture out with your expert guide. You are fully immersed in the experience from your perch aboard an open safari vehicle. You may revisit an active leopard den and catch a glimpse of the new arrivals, or check on the progress of a sleepy pride of lions as they navigate their territory. The bush is always full of surprises.

There is a burgeoning art and fine dining food scene, with renowned chefs making a name for themselves. Much of the world’s best coffee is produced in this area, and Kigali is famous for its café culture. Enjoy a coffee master class, visit one of the many vibrant markets, or pay your respects to Rwanda’s troubled past at the Genocide Memorial.

*Includes: BreakfastJourney to Volcanoes National Park
Set off with your private driver for a scenic drive through the rolling green hills of Rwanda, passing tea and coffee plantations and glimpsing local life along the road.
Volcanoes National Park is one of the oldest in Africa, receiving its first protections in 1925. Framed by the stunning backdrop the Rwenzori Mountain Range and five of the eight Virunga volcanoes, entering this park feels like going back in time. This park was also famously the base of American naturalist Dian Fossey from 1967, as she conducted vital research on the gorillas of the region. She is widely credited with saving species from extinction by shining a light on their plight at the time, making this park a true conservation success story.
While the park is known for its resident mountain gorillas, plenty of other mammals reside here too, including the golden monkey, black-fronted duiker, buffalo, spotted hyena and bush buck. There are 178 recorded bird species, with at least 13 species and 16 subspecies endemic to the Virunga and Rwenzori Mountains.
Accommodations: Singita Kwitonda, 2 nights
Boasting breathtaking views of the Sabyinyo, Gahinga and Muhabura volcanoes and surrounded by high-altitude forests, Singita Kwitonda Lodge offers an experience unlike any other destination. With its exceptional natural beauty, environmentally conscious luxury and transformative, purpose-driven experiences, the lodge was designed in response to this remarkable location, and the eight contemporary suites (as well as the private four-bedroom villa – Kataza House) are linked by volcanic rock pathways to the central lodge.
