Free day to do whatever you like. You have several activity options to choose from today, but we recommend a morning visit to the local village. The family members of Chanoud Garh have been an integral part of the local community for generations, and their strong connection allows guests to experience a slice of village life. Explore the school, market, and houses with a local elder, and culminate your outing with a visit to the old fort on the banks of the lake. This fort is home to the royal family cenotaphs and the hotel’s vegetable garden.

Return to the hotel for lunch and have the afternoon to relax, try out henna, or explore the hotel’s historical rooms. In the evening, join a cooking class with Chanoud’s chef. Held in the old wing of the palace, a special space has been renovated to create a space where guests can learn about some of the traditional recipes from this region.

After, dive deep into the heart of Jodhpur to discover the lesser-known treasures of this enchanting city on foot. Learn about interesting legends from the past, catch a glimpse into the life of locals, meet and interact with the city’s residents, and wander through narrow alleyways dotted with indigo-colored houses. Lunch will be at a local home nestled within the old city walls.

After lunch, take tuk-tuks to the Clock Tower area of Jodhpur and immerse yourself in the local handicraft scene. One of the shops we visit is a 98 year-old textile shop. The present owners are fifth generation and will speak to the fascinating history of textiles in this area as well as the creation process.
