Destination Specialist:
Heather Deakin
Heather has always had a curiosity for different cultures and places, instilled early by a family history in aviation that led to a passion for flying and adventure at a young age. After graduating from university with a Psychology degree, this strong desire to travel continued and she spent some time in Europe before pursuing further studies in hospitality management. Heather was instantly drawn to the excitement of safari and developed a deep love of Africa after her first journey to Botswana and has been returning as often as she can ever since. She has spent the last decade traversing Africa and working as a destination specialist for the region, helping others realize their safari dreams. She loves elephants and some of her favorite moments on the continent include stunning sunsets over the savanna and soaring over the Okavango Delta in a small plane. When she is not traveling or planning trips, you will find Heather singing and playing her guitar, hiking with friends, curled up next to her cat with a good book, or enjoying a coffee shop at home in Toronto, Canada.
