Mari Jo grew up in the woods and lakes of Minnesota, studied intercultural communications in college, then spent a summer traveling solo in Europe. This sense of adventure and curiosity about other cultures led to a career in travel. She’s worked for companies specializing in adventure and scuba diving, luxury villas, and yoga retreats. As a fan of slow travel, she spent over a decade living and working while traveling. She’s back in the U.S. now, but still enjoys extended solo journeys. She enjoys photography and spending time with friends who share a passion for good food and wine, hiking, kayaking, arts and culture.
