20 Years of Vaya Adventures: Thanks from Vaya’s Founder Jim Lutz

Dear Travelers and Friends,

Wow… 20 years!!

Back in 2004, we (OK, actually it was just me) created the very first Vaya Adventure, a custom itinerary to South America for my father (thanks Dad). We’ve come a long way since then, expanding to offer stunning Polar expeditions and an array of exceptional African safaris. We’ve also started offering a collection of outstanding Asian and European explorations, with far more to come this year (Turkey, Japan or Bhutan anyone?).

It’s been a privilege to share the best of what our world has to offer with our amazing travelers over all these years. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard from our guides and partners how much they love Vaya travelers for their respectful and inquisitive approach to travel and their generosity of spirit. So many of you have now taken multiple trips with us, often bringing your kids and grandkids along and referring your friends to us, and we are so excited to now have many more destinations worldwide to offer you.

No matter where you go with Vaya, we’ll always stick to what got us here: an unsurpassed team of destination specialists, outstanding local private guides, and the finest small hotels and properties in the most ideal locations.

We’re also more dedicated than ever to our ongoing, 20-year effort to give back in meaningful ways to the places and people that make our trips so special. With your help, we’ve raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for extraordinary non-profit organizations supporting conservation and local community-based efforts in the destinations we travel.
