The Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater, and Masai Mara. Follow the Great Migration in luxury tented camps
Posted by Matthew Harahush on September 5th, 2015
In one of Santiago’s top barrios (districts), there have been several recent positive developments in hotel options. While the Lastarria Boutique Hotel remains a great option and highly recommended, here are a few more new additions to the neighborhood that are worth considering:
Singular Lastarria: A five star full luxury hotel that is small enough to have friendly charm but large enough to boast a great range of amenities. The 62-room hotel offers an excellent rooftop bar (9th floor with beautiful views), a rooftop swimming pool, and a full service spa with Jacuzzis and steam rooms. A stay at the Singular Lastarria is sure to please.
Altiplanico Belles Artes: A small 24-room boutique hotel (pictured above) located just a few steps from Lastarria (it is actually located in the bordering Belles Artes neighborhood), this hotel is great for those looking for something more unique. This hotel focuses on being ecologically friendly and blending into its surroundings. The food items are brought in from the local “La Vega” market and arrive via bicycle each morning. While the Altiplanico Belles Artes may not having all the amenities of a large luxury hotel, it has a great location and is set in a remodeled historical house from 1909 that is sure to stimulate your architectural senses.
Cumbres Lastarria: Located in the heart of Lastarria, this 70-room boutique hotel puts you right in the middle of the neighborhood – the location can’t be beat. The Cumbres isn’t as architecturally distinct as the Singular or the Altiplanico, but it has a beautiful rooftop bar and pool area, and all the amenities and services of a full service hotel.
