Malay and African heritage is evident in the cuisine, traditions and entertainment while the architecture reveals a strong Dutch, German and English influence. Your private guide will be waiting to transfer you to your boutique hotel in the City Bowl, a scenic area ringed by mountains and the perfect base for exploring this iconic metropolis.

Food Tours and Winelands

Day 6:

Off to the Bush: Start Your Safari

Fly to the Greater Kruger National Park, home to several private reserves, luxurious lodges, and some of the world’s premier safari game viewing.

Head out this afternoon for your first game drive. Climb aboard your custom safari vehicle and head into the reserve in search of your first potential sightings of elephants, lions, leopards, buffalo, rhino, and a variety of smaller species. Take in the sunset in the bush as you enjoy canapes and cocktails before heading back to camp.

Day 8:

Another Day on Safari

Explore the bush and enjoy the offerings at your luxury lodge. You will always have the option of two game drives a day, and in the afternoon you may choose to make some time for a spa treatment, or peer off the deck with a pair of binocular as you relax in camp between game drives.

Explore new areas of the reserve as you continue to check off animal and bird sightings on your list, led by your expert guide and tracker. Revisit den sites, dams and waterholes or the areas patrolled by a territorial pride of lions as you become entwined in the drama and stories of everyday life in the bush.

On Safari

Bid farewell to the bush as you catch your flight to neighboring Mozambique and the beaches of the Indian Ocean.

Vilanculos is a quaint coastal village and the gateway to the Bazaruto Archipelago, a network of five picturesque islands that are home to a remarkably diverse marine reserve. These fertile terrestrial and marine ecosystems harbor many rare and endemic bird, reptile, and marine species, including over 2,000 fish species and iconic marine megafauna such as whales, sharks, rays, dolphins, turtles, and the last viable population of dugongs within the Western Indian Ocean.

Farewell Africa

Board your flight back to Johannesburg to connect with your flight home, or to your onward journey. If you have a long layover we are happy to arrange some touring, or a day room so you can freshen up before your flight.
