Iceland is one of the most geologically active places on earth and the opportunity to circumnavigate this island by cruise is a great way to reach some of the more remote and wild areas that visitors traveling by land alone don’t often get to see. Take advantage of whale watching opportunities from the ship; orcas, sperm whale, minke whale, fin whale, and even blue whale are abundant in Icelandic waters. Depending on the itinerary you could also see the extraordinary Látrabjarg bird cliffs, the largest seabird cliffs in Europe, and Vatnajökull National Park, featuring Europe’s largest glacier.
