Day 1: Welcome to Buenos Aires

Buenos Aires - city view through window

Arrive to Buenos Aires, Argentina’s colorful capital, where your private guide will take you to your boutique hotel in the fashionable Palermo district. This is one of the best areas of town for walking around, with charming boutiques and top restaurants.

Accommodations: Legado Mitico , 3 nights

Legado Mitico is the premier boutique hotel located in the center of the fashionable Palermo Soho district, with many cafes, restaurants, and shops right outside the door. Situated on a tree-lined street, the hotel celebrates Argentina’s cultural heritage by decorating its rooms in honor of famous people from the country’s past. With a refined ambiance, the hotel offers a comfortable library, outdoor deck, and inviting common areas.

Alternative lodging options:
Alvear Palace , Palacio Duhau Park Hyatt , and others

Day 2: Get to Know Vibrant Buenos Aires

Explore Buenos Aires with your private guide, a bilingual local who will take you through the city’s unique neighborhoods. Discover the charms of Palermo, the Recoleta, the Teatro Colon, the Plaza de Mayo, San Telmo, and La Boca. With your private guide, you have the flexibility to explore at your own pace and make detours and stops along the way.

After your tour, spend the rest of the day exploring on your own and trying out the city’s excellent restaurants – we’ll provide a list of our top recommendations!

Accommodations: Legado Mitico , 3 nights

*Includes: Breakfast

Day 3: Relax and Explore the City

Delve deeper into the city’s offerings with your private guide. Today’s tour will broaden your Buenos Aires experience by including activities that cater to your interests. Examples of such activities include a Jewish Heritage Tour, an architecture tour, a visit to the Boca Juniors Stadium, a tango class, and a culinary or wine tour.

Later in the evening, sit back and watch one of Buenos Aires lively tango shows to experience the music and culture that Buenos Aires is most known for.

We can also arrange privately guided day excursions to nearby sites, such as the town of Colonia, Uruguay (a well preserved 17th century Portuguese colonial town that is a UNESCO World Heritage site), or to one of the traditional estancias of San Antonio de Areco, about 1.5 hours from Buenos Aires.

Accommodations: Legado Mitico , 3 nights

*Includes: Breakfast

Day 4: Fly to El Calafate, Land of Towering Glaciers

Fly to El Calafate, gateway to Los Glaciares National Park in Argentine Patagonia. Upon arrival you will be transferred slightly outside the city to a 10,000 acre property that is home to your lodge. Located slightly outside of El Calafate you have privileged views of the Patagonian steppe and Andes mountains.

Accommodations: Eolo , 3 nights

Eolo is located on the side of a small mountain about 40 minutes outside El Calafate, on the way to the Perito Moreno Glacier. A Relais & Châteaux property, the 17-suite Eolo is the most refined accommodation in the area, with superb service, beautiful rooms, and excellent views of the surrounding Patagonian steppe and Andes. This remote lodge sits on a 10,000 acre property evoking the traditional Patagonian estancia, with views of Lago Argentino, La Anita Valley, and Torres del Paine. The lodge offers a restaurant and bar, library, pool, and sauna. Its privileged location between the town of El Calafate and Perito Moreno Glacier means that it is a shorter drive to view the glacier and is far removed from the increasing sprawl of the town.

*Includes: Breakfast

Alternative lodging options:
Estancia Helsingfors , Estancia Nibepo Aike

Day 5: Up Close and Personal on Perito Moreno Glacier

Enjoy a unique excursion to the iconic Perito Moreno Glacier. You won’t just view the glacier from a distance – you’ll take a catamaran ride to the front of the glacier and do a short hike on the ice itself. (Crampons will be provided; this is a non-technical and non-strenuous walking excursion. We can also arrange more challenging and strenuous treks on the glacier.) Afterward, visit the viewing areas for great views of the glacier before returning to your estancia for a traditional Patagonian asado dinner.

Accommodations: Eolo , 3 nights

*Includes: Breakfast, Lunch

Day 6: Estancia Cristina

View the icebergs as you navigate your way to this remote estancia. Upon arrival you will take a 4×4 up a mountain trail that crosses forests and rivers and arrives to a lookout point of the Upsala Glacier and the South Patagonic Ice Field. Finish your day by touring the estancia before navigating back towards El Calafate.

Accommodations: Eolo , 3 nights

*Includes: Breakfast, Lunch

Day 7: Mendoza and Wine Country

Mendoza - Vistabla Winery

Fly to Mendoza, located at the base of the Andes in the heart of Argentina wine country. Your hotel is a favorite of our travelers: a converted country home on the outskirts of the city, with its own small vineyard. Depending on your arrival time, we can set up a bike and wine tour that takes you to a few different wineries in the area.

Accommodations: Cavas Wine Lodge , 3 nights

Cavas Wine Lodge, a member of the exclusive Relais & Châteaux association of fine small hotels, is a premier wine lodge in Argentina. Nestled at the foot of the Andes Mountains, Cavas Wine Lodge is surrounded by the natural beauty of Mendoza, an idyllic wine growing region. The Spanish colonial-style hotel offers a restaurant with a dedicated sommelier, an outdoor pool, spa and wellness center, and beautiful outdoor lounge space overlooking the vineyards.

*Includes: Breakfast

Day 8: A Day of Wine Tasting in the Lovely Uco Valley
