On a recent trip to Peru I followed our Peru Highlights Active: Hike & Bike Peru’s Top Spots itinerary, and brought my HD video camera along. The result is this less than 2 minute piece of work, set to some Peruvian guitar and charango music. Clips include: hiking near the ruins of Pisac and Ollantaytambo in the Sacred Valley, mountain biking to the unique and less visited Incan site of Moray and small town of Maras, and hiking along the last section of the Inca Trail throught the Sun Gate and into Machu Picchu.
For those looking for an active trip, but not interested in camping, this is a fantastic itinerary (it’s one of our most popular overall). The hotels pictured are the Sol y Luna in the Sacred Valley, and the Inkaterra Machu Picchu Pueblo Hotel in Aguas Calientes (one of the top green hotels in all of Latin America). Both are traveler favorites and are great places to spend the night after your days of exploring.
